Dr. Christina Hoefer is a 1997 graduate of the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine.  She earned her undergraduate degree in biology, with honors, from UC Santa Barbara in 1991.

A fifth generation Santa Cruz native, she is delighted to own a hometown veterinary practice and brings a decade of clinical experience in small animal medicine, surgery, nutrition, and behavior, to Ark Animal Hospital.

Dr. Hoefer is committed to providing excellent veterinary care with compassion.  She belongs to the American Veterinary Medical Association and is an active member of the Monterey Bay chapter.  She also has a fondness for felines and their finicky needs and has been part of the American Association of Feline Practitioners for the past nine years.

Her free time is spent enjoying her family; her husband, Darren, and their son, Benjamin.  They share their home with a smattering of dogs and cats 8 at last count! 

Dr. Hoefer also likes to take advantage of the California lifestyle.  She plays competitive beach and indoor volleyball, enjoys leisurely bike rides along the coast, and visits local museums for art and history.
